The Heart of America Radio Club traces its origins to the Kansas City Radio Club which came into existence in the 1920’s. The Heart of America Radio Club, Inc. was incorporated in Missouri in 1951 as a benevolent association. The HARC may be the oldest amateur radio club west of the Mississippi.

  • Purpose

To implement the purposes of the Amateur Radio Service through education, public service and contact with other hams and the community.

  • Activities

Communications for Johnson County Parks and Recreation District biathlons and triathlons. Support for other public service events including the MS-150. The club also participates in the annual ARRL Field Day activities.

  • Meetings

7:00pm the 3rd Tuesday of each month

The meetings are now held at the American Red Cross offices at:

This part of Winchester is south of E. 63rd Street near I-435 / 350 Hwy on the east side of KC.

Thursday nights at 9:00pm on 146.94 — HARC members, non-members and SWLs are invited to check into the HARC Net.

  • Annual Dues

 $12.00, prorated by quarters for new members.
